The most recent piece written/sculpted with AudioCarver...

Back in late April a Csound challenge was issued that revolved around using the various Csound score editors out there to write a piece based on a single sine-wave oscillator. I had meant to post it here but got very busy and forgot about it until now.

Anyway, here's what I wrote for the challenge using the AudioCarver prototype:

...and here are a few pics of how the score looks in the program:

...and a somewhat poorly done video with no audio (I was testing a vid-capture program at the time):

On a related note: We have finally gotten to the bottom of my mysterious health problems that have for years been diagnosed as Crohn's and UC. In actuality it has been a severe allergy to cats, as evidenced by my return to health (don't ask how we all missed it for so long -- I don't know). Regardless, I am finally feeling well, and with a renewed sense of vigor and hope for the future (apparently I'm *not* going to die by ulcer =)

Cheers,

This is really worth hearing, thanks for the link.

It actually reminds me of what I've done at the New Year's Eve. Not that it has something to do with tunings, but maybe you'll like it. All of the sounds were made by applying various reverb and chorus effects to clean sine sweeps (sometimes also heavy distortion) and correlating them with dry sine sweeps using the same algorithm which is commonly used for capturing impulse responses (I.E. time-reversed convolution). And this is the entire uncompressed 16-bit mixdown (encoded in Rar): www.sendspace.com/file/bjzslu

Nice one Andy! Not only sounded interesting (the sine tones have more richness than I expected) but the 'score' looks more like a Kandinski. (About your health, I've got similar mysterious symptoms and I have a cat??)
