Chaconne a son gout

As usual, John deLaubenfels experiments are fascinating (even if in the
real world only ONE person is forced to play the entire Bach Chaconne...
[sorry, Wim, I couldn't resist...]:-)

HOWEVER, after all the wonderful and complex work with springs, only about
1/3 of which, admittedly, I understand, the "sprung" files end up sounding
more like regular ol' 12-tET than anything... (I'm assuming these are the
files with "ss" and "sss" -- which is the accumulating spring influence and
nothing sinister...)

Is anyone else out there experiencing this same thing?? In any case, it
sure is fun to watch all those pitch bend numbers "whizzing" by...

Deja vu all over again?

Did you download the little files to test and possibly correct your
system? Exactly a month ago we exchanged on this subject. See your
post, TD 475.19, my reply, TD 476.6, your response TD 477.22, and my
reply TD 479.22.

It sounds from what you're saying that you're getting no bends
whatever. Please note, however, that the "sss" and even "ss" versions
don't deviate all that much from 12-tET. If you listen to any "z7"
or "r7" file, there should be no doubt that you're hearing another
tuning!!

(more s's stands for "softer", not "springier")
