[tuning] midi keyboard

I'm thinking of selling my sy99 and buying a midi only keyboard, as I've
been using the sy99 lately only as a keyboard to send notes to my laptop. One
thing that bugs me a lot with a normal keyboard is allways scale layout on
the keys.
It's just very impractical to not have the scale repeat on the keys by the
octave so I'm allways laying out scales of any size to either 12 keys 24
keys 36 keys etc per octave.
I know there are special keyboards for microtonal scales but they're just
too expensive for me.

Does anybody know of an affordable keyboard that works well with any size
scale?
I've also been thinking myself that a keyboard that simply has an equal
number of black keys and white keys would work very well too.
Does such a thing exist allready (never saw one and have been looking) or
could such a keyboard be made DIY?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for the link.
And looks very nice indeed. Axis 64 with split keyboard.
However still out of my budget :(
I can only spend around 500 euro.
Axis 49 would be great but it seems like it doesn't do keyboard split like
the 64 making it pretty useless grrr.

Great news!

I've sent an email to C-Thru Music and was told they plan a firware upgrade
for the AXIS 49 in the future that will alow it to send all 98 keys with
unique midi note nr on 1 midi channel, and send both 49 key sections on 2
midi channels.
So it will become the perfect budget and portable microtonal keyboard :)
