A new working project and my own 43-tone JI scale

Well it's been a while since I posted something; I've been fighting writer's block lately. It's the tune titled "Loving County" in my file folder:

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/dawier/

I got two minutes so far and want more, or I might just end it there. I used the free FluidR3 GM soundfont and recorded it quick-and-dirty with Timidity++ in OGG format. Loving County, by the way, is located in West Texas and is the least populous county in the United States: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/25/national/25loving.html

The gimmick: I'm using 72-equal for the strings and 12-equal for winds and piano, and only bass instruments are used: bass flute, Heckelphone (or bass oboe), bass clarinet, contrabassoon, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, piano (preferably a Bsendorfer Imperial Grand), timpani, bass drum, cellos and contrabasses. It's my first completely atonal composition, and towards the end of what I got so far, I use a tone row.

Also, not to second guess Mr. Partch or anything, but I'm finding myself using my own 43-tone scale. It's a combination of his 29-tone 11-limit diamond which was mentioned here just earlier, and a rationalized 41-tone "studloco" subset of Miracle. Since all the ratios of the former except 11/10 and 20/11 are found in the latter, this produces 43-tones. Only six of the ratios are different than Partch's.

The Scala file would be (and my apologies for being redundant if this scale already exists):

I play bass, and I have an affinity for lower frequencies, so I had to write something using all bass instruments. One favorite of mine is the Heckelphone, an improvement on the bass oboe with a wider bore and a more bassoon-like quality. Except on this sound file, you're hearing an out-of-range English horn since I only have that sound to work with.

And about your chords:

I'm with Carl on these; just call them "20:23:30 subminor triad" and "22:27:33 neutral triad". I recognized 27:22 as al-Farabi's neutral third, so maybe it cold be call an "al-Farabi neutral triad".
