Pitch bend theory

I don't know a better place to ask this so here goes...

In the picture linked below...

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i234/Monkage/BentChordTheory.jpg

...it shows 4 sets of triads created by overlapping notes bent 2 8vas
up (in purple).

The first set is bent at angle "A" and spaced "a" seconds apart and
creates a triad of 2 major 3rds.

The second set is also bent at angle "A" but is spaced "b" seconds
apart and creates a triad of 2 minor 3rds.

The third set (on the bottom) is the same as the first.

The fourth set is bent at angle "B" (rises slower than "A") but is
still spaced "a" seconds apart. Like the 2nd set it creates a triad
of 2 minor 3rds.

By keeping the same angle but changing the timing, 2 different 3rds
are created. Conversely, by keeping the timing but changing the
angle, the same 3rds can be created.

This particular example is just basic geometry but taking the idea to
the n-th degree can lead to interesting relationships between timing
and harmony.

So my question is this...
Has somebody already done (or is currently doing) anything with this
type of bent harmonies and has a theory fleshed out, and if so, what
is it called and where can I find out more about it?

Regards,
Andy F.

Hi Andy,

Cool question. I don't know the answer, but I could suggest
you make sure to Prent Rodgers sees it.

ok, i'm finding some serial pieces searching on "parametric
counterpoint". i haven't found anything tonal yet, though.

i'm working on a demonstration piece meanwhile. more to come.

is Prent active a.t.m.? or is he away?

Thanks Carl. I'll post on MMM when I have a decent example recorded.
