i don't read music too well. i think i missed a session gig because
i don't lie -- i don't read and let people know. i play by ear and
have for years. i get by just fine, i feel pure as a musician,
understanding that yeah, fretless basses and the trombone are close to
ultimate microtonal instruments.

there is a mind that will not understand what i am saying, i
speak to its blindspot when i talk about NEW JAZZ, PUNK JAZZ

there almost is no new jazz...jazz is all but dead,
it was so popular that OWNING it or having access to that which would
seem like you were there when Bird and Miles were first improvising...

it is the art place of jazz.
