Re: Viggo Brun's algorithm

Brun is responsible solely for the a-b algorithm. Two other mathematicians, Nils Pipping and Selmer, studied the a-c algorithm and the combination of the two (as a ramified algorithm). I'll check when I get back to my files this evening which did what, as I don't recall the details this AM. The a-c partial solutions tend to oscillate quite widely around the convergent values as I remember.

There are division versions of these also--Jacobi and James Murray Barbour studied them and there are more recent developments which were discussed on either the Alternative Tuning or Tuning Math lists in the past.
