The shortness of life vs. pointless bickering

Golly.

It's been rather funny -- hilarious, even -- watching the best and
brightest of the Tuning List flame each other (with extreme predjudice)
to cinders, over minutiae....but now it gets ugly.

Far be it from me to interrupt this circus. Unfortunately, at least one
member has taken offence enough to withdraw from the forum (anyone here
stopped bickering long enough to notice?) and I don't find THAT
entertaining at all.

Is it me, or are egos just a bit fragile this month? (Must be residual
effects from the recent Mars-Pluto opposition.[See: pseudoscience])

Now we, like all obsessives, are temperamentally (excuse the pun) prone
to various extremes and general obnoxious looniness. But this CRAP has
been going on for a couple of weeks now, by my reckoning, and there
doesn't seem to be any relief from it in the foreseable future.

Throw some cold water on it, guys. Get a grip. Take a Valium, or have a
martini (dry). As Charles has said -- life's too short.

I do not imbibe alcoholic beverages. Valium for me then.

Oz.

There's always a 12 step program.

Of course, it was mid Autumn day! I hope you all had a good one. (Unless of course your religion forbids you from observing it. In which case I hope you enjoyed the day with whatever significance you attach to it.)

Oz,

To hell with Valium. The television here has been
airing the new 7 hour documentary by Ken Burns about
World War Two.

We ought to be glad we're even alive!
