Looking for Mr. Yasser

Guys, have any of you manufactured -- or are aware of -- a 19-tone MIDI
keyboard? I've seen the many Bosanquet-style generalized keyboards
offered, and potentially wonderful as they are for exploring the
microtonal universe, they're unnecessary overkill for my own musical
purposes.

From a practical standpoint, I require no more than 17-19 pitches for
any given composition, and my music draws heavily on traditional Western
classical style; so I'm looking for a pitch-assignable MIDI keyboard
that has the standard 7-white/5-black layout, but with split accidentals
(subsemitones) and an accidental each between E - F and B - C. I'd
consider other 19-tone arrangements, but prefer the subsemitones -- an
unfortunate by-product of being stodgy and unimaginative.

I've searched the Internet for such a device but obviously without
results. Any help out there?

Best,

jls

I think the Thummer was about 19 tones. I can't find info about that or availability on the website, but here it is:

It's not in production, and the plans for that aren't looking
very promising. I was over at Roger Linn's house a couple months
ago playing a prototype.

I have yet to examine all the microtuning implications;

much lower newbie prices for those who have yet to put Logic onto their Mac rigs.

Charles- have you found a page with the info on the tuning. For instance can it do more than 12 pitches per octave.

It looks as though we will still be limited to 12 microtuned notes
per octave.
See my posting of the url for the manual, and see what you can make of it.

Upgrade price in US seems to be £199.

When I spoke to Apple today in Ireland, they said that they don't
even have a pound or Euro price for it yet, and that it will not
require a dongle,

but will be limited to two specific machines per user; yet that those
who were upgrading (like myself) would still need to use our dongles.

I expect the commercial/business stuff will get sorted by the end of
the week, but I doubt that I will actually have a copy up and running
here before the end of the month;-(
