I have added the following links to free books on the H-Pi site.

<http://www.h-pi.com/downloads.html>

An Elementary Treatise on Musical Intervals and Temperament (1876) by R.H.M. Bosanquet

Essay on Intervals, Harmonics, and the Temperament of the Musical Scale (1835) by Wesley S.B. Woolhouse

On The Sensations Of Tone as a Physiological Basis for the Theory of Music (1875) by Hermann L.F. Helmholtz (English translation of the third German Edition)

Divisions of the Tetrachord (1991) by John Chalmers

I know there are many articles on tuning available, but I am making this a list of significant, complete BOOKS on tuning which are in the public domain. Please alert me to anything else you know of which I could add to the list.

Thanks,
Aaron Hunt

I felt the same way when I stumbled onto
Google books. I was especially surprised to find
Bosanquet, Woolhouse and Helmholtz up there for
free.
