new JI version of my _3 Plus 4_

Speaking of 'old wine in new bottles'...

I've just finished re-tuning what I've long thought is
my best piece, a 'smooth-jazz'-type song called _3 Plus 4_.

I wrote it in 12-EDO/12-tET back in January of 1992, and
have just redone it in 13-limit JI. The basic set of pitches
is 5-limit, with a few higher-prime ratios here and there.

I'll make an analytical webpage of it within the near future.
Here's the MIDI-file:

The two solos were played on the original MIDI sequence
by my friend Marc Johnson (no, not the famous jazz bassist),
and were retuned by me yesterday.

The original 12-EDO version is available here:

but be forewarned: the tempo and mix on this version
are not quite right.

In any case, I think that in every way the new JI version
is far superior to the old one, and is without any doubt
the best thing I've written so far.

Enjoy!
