seeking email address for Dieter Torkewitz

Knowing that there are several list members who live in
Germany or understand German, i'm hoping someone can help
me find an email address for Dieter Torkewitz.

Please use (AT) instead of the "at" symbol so that the
Yahoo interface won't truncate it ... or else just point
me to a webpage that has the contact info. Thanks.

Yes, i found that and thought that it probably had
a link to his contact info somewhere, but i couldn't
find it.

The online translators i've been using to translate
some of his work keep translating his last name as
"torquing joke", which doesn't make any sense in English.
And anyway, the German word for "torque" is _Drehkraft_.

The German intransitive verb _torkeln_ means "to stagger".
So apparently his name means something like "staggering joke",
which i suppose refers to a joke that makes you laugh so
hard that you can't walk straight.

German speakers please help me out here.

In German, "Witz" means "joke".
In German, "Torke" means nothing.
In German, "Torkel" also means "wine press" and "gift from the gods".

I think the joke is supposed to be a combination of both languages,
hence "Torque Joke".

I'm doing this on-list since this question has, unfortunately, already received responses.

-witz is simply the German version of Polish -wice, a place name suffix. The first part may be something Polish too, or maybe a person's name like the Scandinavian Torge/Torger. Either way, a turecko connection is very unlikely.

In the border lands you can see the transliteration changing over time-
for example, in Graz (was Gradetz, before that Gradec) Austria you
can see the inscriptions in a family plot in a graveyard changing from
Slavic to Germanic spellings (È to -tsch for example).

For six years I had a girlfriend whose last name was
Lotowycz. She told me that -wycz, and probably
-wicz, and -witz, were Ukranian suffixes.
