monz: swing/bebop tune in 13-edo

Hi all,

I was going to wait until this was more like a finished
piece before posting it, but since Aaron posted his 13-edo
piece (which i haven't gotten around to listening to yet)
and there's been discussion about it, i figured i'd go ahead
and post what i have of it so far:

My idea was that since this jazz style generally makes no
reference whatsoever to anything resembling 5-limit JI,
and neither does 13-edo, then perhaps this was a marriage
waiting to happen.

Is the attraction of 13 that you can simply ignore harmony?

rofwl! I don't know if you intended that comment to be funny Gene, but
it was anyway. 11-et and 13-et have highly individual tonalities, and
don't do well in harmony/counterpoint derived from a 5-limit tuning.
Any 11 or 13 harmony/counterpoint needs to develop out of those
individualities, I think....

Man, does that MIDI swing! I dig it, monz. Let's hear some more.

Aside from the weird meters, the thing i had the most fun
with in composing this fragment was those bluesy piano riffs.
Sure, the chords in 13-edo sound strange, but those blues riffs
sound just fine to me (no pun intended).

I wish i had gotten around to really finishing this one ...
