Carrillo instruments sold in Paris

For general information:
today (December 20th) five instruments which belonged to the french composer
Jean-Etienne Marie, designed or constructed by Julian Carrillo were sold at
an auction in Paris.
1) A straight piano made in 1961 for Carrillo by the firm Sauter. A keyboard
of 97 keys containing one full octave of 1/16th tones from central C to C1.

2) A third-tone piano Metamorfoseador, made by Sauter for Carrillo in 1961.
N� 22 793
3) A 1/16th tone harpe made by Carrillo in Mexico between 1920 and 1930. Two
octaves, 97 strings.
4) A small fifth-tone harp, 31 strings.
5) An ondioline.
Nrs 1 and 5 were bought by the Mus�e de la Musique in Paris. Nrs 2, 3 and 4
were bought by the HEMAD (Haute Ecole de Musique et Arts Dramatiques) in
Bienne (Switzerland). All instruments will be restored, if necessary, and
the aim is to use them in concerts again.
