Boy, I hope not. Gilmore features a nice Partch quote on the topic of
Cage's music... [from memory]

I laugh and say, "come again?" Drinking carrot juice with an amplified
gullet? Showmanship, fine. Inovation, not for me.

Folks:
Tony Conrad's name was mentioned on this list. If you don't know abourt
this guy take a moment ot visit his site at http://www.tonyconrad.com/tote/

He was an essentioal part of LaMonte Young's early work and has a lot to
say about what went on in those early years. As for Slapping Pythagoras- it
is a bit "edgy" but OK if you are into audio meatgrinders. I do, however,
stronly recommend the "Early Minimalism" CD Box- if you appreciate Young I
guarantee you will enjoy this very much-

Here is the info-

Dear Mr. Strange
Thank you for the info but what I was getting at was the similarities between EM &
the Obsidian Ocelot --Map of 49's Dream era Theater of Eternal Music, and Conrads
"edgy" music translating into textual onslaughts when in fact he resembles almost
precisely what he accuses Grandpappy Young of.
