Hi all

I think I had asked this before , but again I ask it:
How I can use musics written by softwares based on 12-edo for scala-retuning , using systems more than 12 divisions.have friends any solutions?

What form is the music in? If a midi file, Scala might work for you.

hi gene

yes , the format is midi ,and is it possible to use for example all degrees of 15-edo in a written music with for examlpe encore and with limitation of wavetables of soundcards and 12-edo-behaviour of the softwares?

I'm afraid I don't understand your question, but it is certainly
possible to get a midi file tuned to 15-edo. "In a written muaic"
raises the question--written how and in what?

Hi

I mean for example using all intervals of 48-edo in music composed for 12-EDO with only flat and sharp accidentals. assume that i have a written atonal music in 12-edo by encore or cakewalk, i want to have 300 , 325 and 350 cent for retuned Eb after retuning.

If you can make a midi file of your 12-edo music, you can have Scala
convert it to a Scala seq file, and then multiply all the numbers by
four by taking those numbers and running it through another program.
Scala should be able to do this for you, but unfortunately I don't
think it can. Maybe Manuel can tell us. Now recreate the Scala file
with the new numbers, and modify them as you prefer.

Yes it can, very easy: go to Tools:Transform MIDI to sequence file,
fill in the in- and output files, under Options leave the first one
selected, click the Edit Mapping button, set the size to 12, then in
the mapping fill in the numbers 0, 4, 8, .., 44. Click OK, Click the
Show Mapping button to verify, click OK, then the seq file is ready.

You can create .seq files from MIDI files in different ways. It
depends on what you want to do with it which his the best way in order
to minimise the amount of editing necessary afterwards. I would prefer
note names myself (the second option), add in this case a notation E48
statement to the file and change Eb to Eb/ or Ev. But if you want to
change them all at once to the same pitch it's easier to use note
numbers and change the current scale.
