Interesting Article On Composer Using Tubes to Alter Sung Harmonics

Has me wondering if someone in the ancient past might have used such a
system to figure out harmonic motions and possibly some tunings.

Possible relationship with Barber Shop Quartets. At least the Barber
Shop Quartets might sound interesting manipulated this way.
