Great throat singers of Tuva

Has anyone else on the tuning list seen the article in Scientific American,
Sept. 1999 on the "throat singers" of Tuva.

It is a very good article -- I would suggest hunting it up if you can...
It is taken in a scientific vein (like a lot of things, of course, in
Scientific American), with explanations of the sound generation of teh
fundamental from the vocal chords and the way the the Tuvan singers are
able to reinforce the "formants" of the harmonic series (of course, this is
all in "just intonation") in order to create their combined sounds -- which
also somewhat mimic or reflect their natural surroundings...
