Perhaps you can tell me the line length cutoff
for functioning links on Yahoo.

Why bother writing such posts, David? Because I don't like
Feldman?

It cuts it off at the question mark.

This is something that's been discussed here before. I
just typed "ergodex" into the Yahoo search field here, and
got

/tuning/topicId_57460.html#57466

I never did hear back from them, but perhaps it's worth
pinging them again.

It comes with software that lets you assign each key a keyboard
keystroke or series of keystrokes. The keys can be placed
anywhere on the tablet, and multiple layouts can be created in
advanced and switched over the tablet quickly.

Right out of the box, these could be used to trigger samples
in a sequencer. If you had a pre-tuned sample for every key,
you could fake up a generalized keyboard of your choice. I
don't know what holding a key down does in most samplers --
probably triggers repeated samples rather than sustaining a
sample, but I'm not sure.

With some development, perhaps these could be coaxed to do
MIDI. As mentioned in that previous thread, they do have an
OEM program, so if you had some dough they'd might build
one for you.

Usually, though, keyboard-style buttons aren't very good as
keyboard keys. One never knows, though. It's one way to
try different layouts quickly AND have tactile feedback (the
other way to try different layouts that's usually suggested
is touch-screen stuff, like the JazzMutant Lemur).
