Hrm, some things seem better, like a persistant fixed-width
mode (I haven't tested ASCI art yet). Some seam worse, like
the lack of sender information in message view!

Ouch! It's horrible. I shall surely quit the list rather than be subjected to such grotesque artlessness.

As usual, my first reaction is negative. We'll see what time does
about that.

As usual, my first reaction is positive. ;-)
I'm in digest mode. Now, it's much easier to -
a) read the messages
b) follow a thread
c) reply

As for formatting a fixed-width table, let's just try the following:

123 456 789
23 56 89
3 6 9

Hmmm, looks alright in the preview!

Yahya

PS. That's a manual signature.
PPS. I haven't tried the Yahoo! Rich-Text Editor (beta) yet.

Great. Not only do you have to look in the lower-right to
identify the sender of the message you're reading, once you've
read it, the link in the messages list no longer becomes
'followed'. So now when I load the messages view, I have
no idea where I left off.

That is, by clicking "next".

I noticed that as well. Trying to stay optimistic, it seems that
search is improved, or at least a lot faster. Whether it balances out
the other kludge aspects remains to be seen. Remember, if it isn't
fixed, break it.

Cheers,
Jon

I don't have that information there, I have it in an annoying box on
the right I'd like to get rid of.

Still OK when viewed online - it's in my fixed-width font
for the browser, AND it preserves the spaces I typed to
line up the columns of figures on the right.

However, when viewed in the emailed daily digest, it appears
in my variable-width font for the email reader, AND it strips
out any spaces in excess of one. ;-(

Clearly, I need to try something else - maybe the old trick
of replacing spaces by full-stops (periods)? But that won't
solve the use of proportional font problem ...

Looks like I'll be studying the Rich-Text Editior, after all!

Yahya

Hi Carl,

I have no problem with this, but maybe it's because of my working
habits:
1) My browser is instructed to open followed links in the same
window (to avoid clutter); but
2) From the messages view, or quite generally from any site's
index page, I right-click and select "Open link in new window"
whenever I think I may not be finished with the originating page.
And of course:
3) As soon as I'm finished with a window, I close it.

Regards,
Yahya
