A Cross-Tuning Definition of Melody?

If you disregard/ignore the tuning-specic pitch class
naming/symbolization and the tuning specific intervals
BETWEEN pitch classes/scale steps, then melody could
be defined as a particular instance/example of the
ordering/heirarchization of a particular sized (the
number of scale steps) scale step collection.

When abstracted to this level, melodies could be
"translated/transported" between/among tuning systems
with the same number of pitch classes/scale steps.

The reason I was thinking about this is that although
I haven't "composed" any music in the ordinary sense
of the word, I have written out and created MIDI files
of a lot of 12EDO 13-note all-interval-class/all-contour
melodies and put them in archives of 3 of my Yahoo Groups,
so they might be of use/value to those exploring tunings
of 5,6,7,8, and 9 tones/pitch classes at least, if anybody
out there is exploring tunings of that magnitude of
pitch classes.
