Dear Microtonalists

It is with deep sorrow that I feel urged to communicate to you that
Eduardo Sábat-Garibaldi, a member of this community, passed away last
February 25th at the age of 71. I'm one of his nephews, and he usually
shared with me his thoughts and develpments in music and
microtonalism. I'm not a musician, but learnt to enjoy Eduardo's
enthusiasm towards microtonalism and its active community -within
which he has found friends-, the "Dinarra" and the "Gama dinámica".

His death was the consequence of a failed surgery, which irremediably
hit his health. His agony lasted one month.

At least I want this information to be shared with John Chalmers, and
with Johhny Reinhard, two of the nice friends of my uncle, if not to
all who will miss him as I do.

Best regards

Haroldo

Dear Haroldo,

So very sorry to hear the news of your uncle's passing. He was known
to many on this list, and opened important musical doors for others. I
will pass along this news to John Chalmers, who might not be reading
the list currently. I wish you peace as you remember Eduardo.

Regards,
Jon Szanto

Thanks very much for letting us know. He was a great contributor
to microtonality, and a wonderful correspondent. I enjoyed very
much the videos he sent me, and his posts to this list were always
informative.

I hope that the community around the Dinarra continues... will
you post and let us know about it?

-Carl

Wow, i'm really sorry to hear that Eduardo has passed away.

He tried years ago to engage me in correspondence, but i
never got around to keeping up with it as much as i wanted
to ... i really regret that now.
