new Robert Rich cd's (just intonation)

Hi, I'm a big Robert Rich fan. All his solo cd's starting with
'Numena' are in just intonation. His 'Lithosphere' collaboration,
which just came out last October, is in JI as well. There's some
lengthy sound samples of 'Lithosphere' here:

I'm also looking forward to 'Electric Ladder', which will come out in
a week or 2. No sound samples online as yet:

Also, if you're having trouble sleeping, there's over an hour of sound
samples from his 7 hour sleep dvd 'Somnium' here:

Anyone know of any similar JI artists?

Wow, this is great stuff. How come I've never heard of this guy
before? Which CD should I buy first?

Surprised you hadn't, but glad you have now. Rich is a good listen...

Cheers,
Jon (who wishes he had a recommendation)

The JI Network's been selling his stuff for years, and he's
pretty well known in 'synthesis enthusiasts' and 'New Age type'
crowds.

'Gaudi' is a beautiful cd. If you're in IE, you can play all the
samples at once at amazon.com. But if you order from his webpage, he
ships it the next day. Maybe that will change when he goes on tour, lol.

Electric Ladder is sounding very nice:

Woohoo. 'Electric Ladder' just became available for order.

http://robertrich.com/rrladder.html

Robert tells me he mostly uses 5 limit tuning with a 7/5 tritone, plus
some harmonics:

(this was in the jacket for 'Geometry')
1/1 16/15 9/8 6/5 5/4 4/3 7/5 3/2 8/5 5/3 9/5 15/8

Nothing too radical for you guys, I guess.

I just wanted to add that he runs different modes on a scale like
that. So he ends up getting other septimal intervals like minor 7th
(7/4) & subminor third (7/6).
