Hardanger fiddle mp3s

Hi,

Just wanted to share this URL with whoever may be interested in how the hardanger fiddle sounds:

http://www.hfaa.org/music_samples.html

It contains a bunch of mp3s.

Some are very influenced by American folk music (to my Swedish ears at least), but others sound genuine. The 11th harmonic is prominent in some, and there was one or two hints of the 7th harmonic there too.

Thanks a lot for this. I've listened to some of them and they are wonderful.
Do you also know about some links of "seljeflyte" recordings? (Not sure if
I'm saying the name of the instrument correctly.) I decided to learn to play
the overtone flute about a year ago as I've almost "fallen in love" with its
sound. That's why I also have a few of them at mine. I'd be really happy to
hear the overtone flute being played by someone who is considered to know
how indeed.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Petr

Hi Petr,

http://www.tvfolk.net/

The "Morgonstemning vid 1st Avenue" video is overtone flute. I have
no idea of this person is a virtuoso or not as I'm not very familiar
myself with the music. There are more folk video recordings available if
you click the various contries' flags.

There is also music at the drone label, although none of it overtone
flute as far as I can see:
