Lata Mangeshkar: Bollywood music to listen to

Hi all,

Apologies for cross-posting this, to both the tuning list
and MakeMicroMusic, but I don't recall on which list
I was asked to give some pointers to good Indian film
(Bollywood) music.

At the moment, I'm listening to a wonderful singer,
Lata Mangeshkar, whose career has spanned well over
50 years. You can hear some of her most popular songs,
(not necessarily her finest), using RealPlayer, at the

On the first page, I particularly recommend listening
to 'Jaadugar Saiyan', 'Kahan Ho Tum' and 'Tujhe
Jeevan ki Dor Se'. The latter is a duet with Mohd.
Rafi, another very fine singer, but the soundtrack is
just a little stretched :-(.
