Thanks for the reminder - when I first obtained Hounds of Love it did not leave my turntable for at least six days (possibly seven) (except to turn it over, of course), and it remained a prominent part of my mental furniture for years afterwards. Kate's never been particularly micro, though there was the bit of harmonic singing on HoL (years before it was trendy), and of course her ear for texture and instrumentation is fabulous.
12 years between albums! Let's see the Blue Nile top that....

Kate:

Extremely mixed enigmatic bag yet intriguing.

Some parts brilliant; others utter dross.

Merging of sfx with instruments e.g. birdong, laughter, pigeon
cooing .....

Nice idea
Now that's gotta be microtonal to really work.

There's even a song called �.

It requires at least a dozen listenings, just to catch the lyrics.
