Sound forge simple synth problem

I am using the simple synth in Sound Forge 4.5 to create sets of JI
samples that I map to my Emu E 4K turbo sampler.

However, I have the following problem. When making a set of JI triangle
waves, if I make a 2/1 interval, for instance, 240Hz and 480 Hz, it
doesn't sound like an in-tune octave. Does anyone have any idea why this
may be? The first obvious question is "how high is the resolution of the
synth?" The display shows that it is accurate to the hundredth or
thousandth of a hz level, but I don't know if the resolution of the simple
synth lives up to the display.

For comparison, I used Justonic Pitch palette, used the wav output, set it
to traingle, and listened to an octave. It sounded fine.

Comments?

thanks,
Jesse

Hi Jesse,

Try a program called WAMaker from polyhedric.com. It is basically a MIDI to WAV
renderder. You can also use it to define a table that defines offsets for
retuning each midi note. You only need to define the offset for one octave and
WAVmaker takes care of the other octaves. You create your MIDI performance and
during the rendering process WAVmaker will retune each MIDI note as defined in
your tuning table.
Hope this helps.
