Brain patterns, and ASC (altered states of consiousness).

Yes Brian,

I have often wondered this exact same thing.

I know of no actual documented, control tested, studys done with large
samples of people, and temperaments and tunings effects on brain waves,
state of consiousness, emotional capacity, reasoning.

I would like to see an experiment performed on pre-school age children (say
4-6) of all race, nationality, ethnic background, and their performance in
the "15 minute window of IQ and EQ boost" that is supposed to be attributed
to Mozart and classical/Baroque music only.

And I would like to see this experiment performed on University students.

=====IMPORTANT NOTE=====

HOWEVER:I would like to see a study done also for other forms of musical
experssion, as well as classical.
It would be sheer snobbery and "intellectual wankery" to assumme even for a
moment that Baroque music is the only music to have this effect.
What about metal, rap, jazz, techno, ambient, and the huge variety and
interelated ethnic mish mash of wounderful 12ular and Xenharmonic music that
is out there?

***********Most importantly, however, I would like to see this experiment
done for 19ET, 31ET, 24ET, 9ET, 5-19 limit JI, quiggle/reverse quiggle
temperaments.*************

I have heard, BTW, information done on childrens performance in IQ tests
after taking piano lessons, computer lessons and a control group.
Piano lessons effected children most, followed by computer lessons, followed
by control.
The shortcomings of this study were that no groups of children did BOTH
piano lessons AND computer lessons, or any other instruments for that matter
(eg guitar, cello, drums, digeridoo, bagpipes, glass harmonica, megalyra
ect......).

IQ tests are almost certainly questionable in terms of acessing a child's so
called "intelligence", and have limits and bias, but I won't go into that
in depth, as we all know that already!

(Theres no such thing as a bad child!).

Sincerely,

Sarn Ursell.
