a little madness

sometimes, in the intellectual world we can forget how love moved us.
musicians...love music and she is a lovely girl who is always young
and yet old ancient odler than time, wiser thanthe world.

"musicm sweet nmusic, wish i could caress and kiss'
the late greatjimi hendrix, manic depression.

i know people whowon'ttune by ear. "we need our quartz tuners" they
whine. i think they are like kids with training wheels who are
growingfacial hair and sortr of a laugh, but I have givn up..

they literallycan't hear what i hear!

the spheres, man, the music of the spheres.

i can hardly wait for the feeling of victory.

the man in the picture at the frontispiece..he looks like he has
scored a victory like he does have the hottest girl atthe prom, musicm
tehgirl everyone wants.

tony carbonaro...he tuned his whole choir. how did i knowat age ten
thathe was tuning his choirs?

hours, hours of ear training. tapping the keys. no, notthat note
peggy, try again! but then we were eight part..we were tony
carbonaro's eight string Shouter guitar...

the wheels! and then the astrologer, the painter and the musician all
get together and say yes!
and the wheel of fifths, and color wheeland the rainbow all swing
forever in space and yet there are more wheels. the wheel ezekiel saw.

and yeah!

now i am wondering what itwil feel like..as i was only an
instrumentalist for many years...a vocal instrumentalist who did what
directors instructed me. but my ear was a musician. now my brain has
been involved and those who enjoy music often don't play, and hence
don't realise...

one comes full circle after some years of instrumental study

one gets to a place where you say OH -- this is what i was enjoying
about music...when you finally learn to tune by ear. and my former
partner is addicted to his quartz tuner, one day he'll realise the joy
of tuning.

tuning..

sometimes i sit down

just to tune.

and the greatjoni mitchell of legend - i heard she takes eighteen
tunings in the road with her. someone will have to blow her horn cause
she won't blow her own.

in this world music connects us all to the heart of nature. when we
tune we find teh sublime beyond plato and beyond archimedes, the
sublime of the foundations. music is what ultimately really does make
the world go round, it is the heart of hearts which is why the heaert
is a drum that betas, and love is a resonantor and all those cliches
in love songs are not really sappy, they are deep and moist with
love's nectar -- love still makes the world go round, money comes in a
far pale second...

i think this might refer to guitar tunings, which takes the same scale starting on different notes.
But i agree that Joni has not gotten her due as far as her harmonic language. Even her most popular songs used ninths fourth and sevenths in the bass, often also doubled in fifths that gave her music that particular sound. An amazing 12 string player too
