Hmm... I wonder how much of the high-frequency damping is a result of the
magnetic material, and how much is a loss of stiffness in the neck due to
the fingerboard being mostly removed. I wonder if inlaying carbon fiber
rods in the neck underneath the magnetic layer would solve or at least
lessen this problem. I don't think carbon fiber was readily available in
'78.

I am not ready to manufacture the kits myself yet, but if I like the kit
after I have installed one, I'll try to keep a few in stock, so that my
customers won't have to wait for snail-mailing Mark Rankin.
