Fw: Bach's maqams

Paul Erlich wanted me to post this on the list, where I claimed that Bach's entire works, all of them being tonal and pertaining to certain keys, are within the sphere of the Maqamat.

I don't know -- I must have just assumed you wouldn't so consider it -- can you make a case for Bach's music being composed of Maqamat?
