Hello group!

I just wanted to report that Johnny Reinhard's AFMM electronic
concert of micro music went very well. I'm not going to report much
on the concert since I was *on* it! (Yes, I *did* like my own piece
and Meredith Borden did a splendid and dramatic job of my
_BlackandJill_).

Personally, I think some of the highlights were "our own" Chris
Bailey's two electronic pieces, which had an incredible professional
veneer about them and were also really quite wild. He also had a
singer in the Diamanda Galas school who belted out tremendous
absurdities that I appreciated. Bravo Chris.

I also very much liked Marcus Bittencourt's _Bathyscaphe_ which he
played at a *ring modulated* piano. When have we heard *THAT* sound
since Stockhausen's terrific _Mantra_?! He also had a great
electronic track that sounded like Gabrielli or some brass band going
amuck. Maybe the piece was a little lengthy for my taste (18
minutes...)

I enjoyed meeting all the composers and they were all very
personable. I feel, though, that "interactive electronics" sometimes
is problematic on a concert series. Just setting things up and
letting the computer do the work as the performer improvises doesn't
always seem all that interesting to me... Well, sometimes it is,
oftentimes it *isn't*. I was less captivated by those pieces... but,
hopefully, others liked them.

That's all folks!

Congratulations! As I wrote previously (elsewhere), I'm always
interested in hearing a recording of the event.
