Thanks folks. Until last month the archives were not
streaming. Mr. Szanto clued me in and I puzzled over his
email for a couple of weeks until I realized how simple it
was to get the files to stream. Drew's directions are correct.

Last week and today's show are 4 hours long because
no one's doing a program after me. When I have the time
I fill in until someone takes the spot. Opportunity knocks!

Help me out, David. I went to

and tried to download one or more files, but it kept bitching that
I didn't have Real Audio installed. Yeah, I download on one machine
(which has no sound card) and play on another (which does); is that
a problem? I was not able to get it just to put the file on my disk!
What am I missing here?

The files are set up to stream so you have to have
RA on the machine you're using to access the files.

And the reason for this is - ? If Drew Skyfyre is right (TD 366.1),
you'd just have to push a switch and the files could be downloaded.
Or do you have to pick one or the other, vs. allowing a choice at
connect time?

I would guess that there are a lot of people like me, with limited
internet access time, who would like to get to know these artists.

I guess someday, when I have the time, I can add
another set of links for downloading the file so people
can download a 2 to 32 meg real audio file down a
telephone line. Most of the files are at least 14 megs.

Believe me, I know what a time suck web sites can be, even to do
something "easy". My own web is microscopic compared to most others,
and I STILL can futz away endless time trying to update it.

I'm doing well with the trick I posted (TD 368.16), and I'm assuming
others can do the same, so I withdraw my request for a change to your
site.

And, in case I haven't said so before, THANKS for making this music
available!!
