My 5th CD, "Stick Man," is done and will be available in a month...it's 19 and 34 tone equal temps, and the style is pretty thick "fusion," for lack of a better word...all instrumental, featuring Ernie Crews on drums/percussion, and myself on electric guitars/basses. I'm selling it for $12, postage paid, from Box 150271 Lakewood CO 80215...please post if you have any questions, best in 2005 to all....Hstick

Yes sir, and I got a four song preview of it yesterday, and it's
great! Let's see, lots of 34-tet... an atmospheric but grooving ECM
type jazz rocker... a mean little haverstick hard rocker with
teeth... an electric reworking of a previously all-acoustic piece off
of the Mills College Tuning Forum CD... and the most beautiful
Martian dream ballad I've heard from him yet (this one's a stunner
folks). As always, can't wait to hear the finished work!
Go Neil go......

Great. I picked up a copy from G9 (figured I'd save you the trouble
of shipping it... hope your cut is fair from them), and judging
from the samples there, everyone else on this list should do the
same. This sounds like the electric album you told me about in 1998...
I can't wait!

This sounds like a very well-made performance, I especially enjoyed the excerpt from the third track! :)

The description "just intonation gamelan" made me curious, and I immediately had to check what it means. Here are the sites that I found:

http://www.billalves.com/porgitaro/handeltuning.html
http://www2.hmc.edu/~alves/pleng.html

And here are some modes of the JI pelog scale described on the first page:
(from C) 1/1 35/32 5/4 21/16 49/32 105/64 7/4 2/1
(from D) 1/1 8/7 6/5 7/5 3/2 8/5 64/35 2/1
(from F) 1/1 7/6 5/4 4/3 32/21 5/3 40/21 2/1
(from Bb) 1/1 8/7 5/4 10/7 3/2 7/4 15/8 2/1

(I hope I didn't make any mistakes when transposing the scale to D, F and Bb)

I'm looking forward to read more about those tunings on the other page. Does the orchestra still use those exact tunings, or are they "outdated"?
