Israelite/Hebraic Tuning System

What is the biblical tuning system as used by ancient Israel? My
understanding is that it is some sort of 7-tone system repeating every
octave and that's all I know.

I know exactly nothing about biblical-era music, but this seems
like an interesting qusetion. I had hoped monz might have something
on this...

Shaun,

There must, of course, be jewish experts who could
answer your question, but I don't know who they would
be. I do know that Ernest G. McClain has written
about the scales of ancient Isreal, including their
esoteric implications. I have one of his papers which
I could photocopy and send to you. I don't have
access to a scanner, so you will have to send me a
snail-mail address to send it to.
