Self-tuning synthesiser

Has anyone made a synthesiser which analyses what notes it's
playing, and then retunes itself in real-time so that all concurrent
intervals are acoustically tuned?

This probably seems rather random, but I'm planning to do something
similar myself, and if it's already been done then I'd be wasting my
time.

Cheers,
Patty

Yes, it has been done: Mutabor by Rudolf Wille (Darmstadt, Germany)
does exactly that. See, e.g.,

(Sorry the site is in german - but Google found only sites in german...)

There's also Hermode tuning, see http://www.hermode.com .
Software synthesizers will come out some time soon I
believe which have this built in. There are also organs
like Content that have it.
You can also Google for adaptune.

In addition to this message and to the message of Manuel op de Coul:
At our websites:
www.hermode.com
(written in "flash" and also in english...)
you will find at the chapter "historical"
and there at "Software-Driven Tunings"
an oversight in 4 different ideas how to
control frequencies to just intonation on the basis of
played notes.

The second model is "Mutabor"
the forth "Hermode Tuning".
We added graphics in order to show the different tuning results
of these 4 ideas. The main difference between these ideas
is the effective tuning height and the different heuight of
retuning steps.

At "practice/ products" you will find an oversight in the
actual synths, equipped with Hermode Tuning.

The next applications with Hermode Tuning will be
samplers and sequencers.
