"Tuning" and "Temperament"

Sorry about not having a relevant post to reply to, but my ISP's spam filter triggered another Yahoo hiatus.

Anyway, I heard a chap on the radio asked two separate question

1) What temperament do you use?

2) What tuning do you use?

or maybe "how do you tune?" but you get the idea. Pondering his answers may help to understand how the unwashed masses understand these words.

1) Fifth comma meantone

2) A=440
