OK Bill, you've put up two lengthy responses to my original post. It is
clear that you are very passionate on this subject. So am I, and I am
tempted, VERY tempted, to respond point by point to your latest essay.
BUT, as you said many words ago, this is OT (Off Topic) for the tuning
list.

The purpose of my original post was to ask that we not take gratuitous
swipes at off-topic subjects (especially this particular off-topic
subject) as we pursue on-topic subjects. Can we agree to that?

Well, what I said was that I thought this topic was not as off-topic as it
might appear, but I certainly did not intend any of my remarks to be
gratuitous. If you would prefer to agree to disagree, I would certainly
respect those who want to get back to unity vectors and the like.
