Hi there

have a Soundblaster Audigy and would like use it with scala? Is it
possible?
Does anyone know of a free software running on that card?

Thanks

No problem, any modern soundcard can be used.

What kind of software are you looking for?

By the way, the latest Scala version can produce horagrams.
They were discussed in February on the tuning-math list.
Go to File:New:Pythagorean scale or Tools:Convergents to
make them.

Yes scala is BiG thing, runs perfectly on my old DX 7.. (set synth 2
works great)

Have tried with diverse midi dump settings with scala in the set
synth menu but none of them worked...My old card i sold accepted set
synth 107.

it's soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum pro.

maybe you know something defining this card regarding midi dump
acceptance.

Oh I see, there are very few soundcards with a tuning
table alas, the Turtle Beach was one of the exceptions.
You can use the Audigy normally when playing with Scala,
otherwise you have to use midi relaying, in the Tools
menu. But it has its drawbacks and is limited compared
to a tuning table.
When you want to relay from another program you have to
install a midi loopback, like Midi Yoke.

Thanks for your help Manuel. Want to play only Scala really. It's
really great stuff regarding my DX7II e.g.

What do you mean by "You can use the Audigy normally when playing
with Scala" Pls help me to apply Scala.. i.e.
My normal steps with DX7 II:

Open Scala
Set Synth 2
Set Equal command according to mode e.g. EQUAL 7
then tip mode
tip name of mode MIRING for example
@send it with MEGAMID

open Cakewalk play XXX.mid everything's on Yamaha

As for Turtle Beach card...the same steps one exception set synth 107

Can you tell me similar steps in this format for my audigy?

Millions of thanks!

I can't because it cannot hold a tuning in a tuning
table. You should complain to Creative Labs that they
do not have MIDI Tuning Standard support in their
soundcards.

So you have two alternatives, convert your midi file
with some tuning (Tools menu) and then play it normally,
or use midi relaying after setting up a midi loopback and
selecting the same loopback device in Cakewalk and Scala.
But the latter cannot use more than one sound simultaneously.

can you explain that alternative thing step-by-step..
can I make use of equal 7 with these tools? If yes.. how?
Am more into performing so not bad as user but have my limitations :)
Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience
