David probably gets this list in e-mail form, because I deleted this
post of mine *immediately* after it showed up in the archives. My
apologies, Gene, that it made it back into the archives anyway, in a
form I *can't* delete . . . I'll try to be more Kurt-like in my
etiquette suggestions in the future, and obviously need some lessons
myself (physical pain is no excuse) . . .

It works for me; I wasn't feeling well when I recently got into it
with Jon. I'm sorry your arm still hurts--evidently this was a nasty
one.

When a virus is affecting systems on a global scale, it's prudent
not to send e-mails with subject lines similar to those sent by
the virus. Just a friendly note. :)

if paul's arm is hurting that badly, then he has reasons
to feel down in the dumps that are even more serious than
the pain itself: typing to the tuning list is difficult,
and even worse, he can't play his guitars!!

:(

hope you're feeling better soon, paul.

(who's really happy to see apologies flying all over the list!)

I've heard of some virus called "MyMood" or something, but I don't
know what subject lines it uses . . .

Thanks Monz. I'm playing a gig tonight but I think I'll sit down this
time. My left arm is definitely screwed up -- I can't open jars at
all, or snap buttons with the left hand. There's a lot of bruising
around my elbow though I actually landed on my wrist, with my forearm
at a 90 degree angle to the ground. I'm going to seek professional
help tomorrow . . .

Well, I'm sorry for not apologizing sooner!

MyDoom I believe, and it uses several different variants of
'return to sender' and 'delivery failure' type subject lines.

The information that I have indicates that the subject line is usually
"HELLO". The messages my own server processes which I suspect are caused by
this particular virus vary in subjects as follows:

hi
HI
hello
HELLO
test
Test
TEST
Server Report

The subject involving delivery failure results from the fact that messages
are forged with *your* email address as the "From", causing a legitimate
bounce message when the destination email address does not exist, which it
often doesn't. If you look further down for the subject of the original
message you will probably see one of the above.
