Chords for Open C minor tuning?

Capoed at the 4th to be in the Key of Em. What would the fingerings
for the chords : Am Bm and Gmaj be? I'd rather no use bar chords if
possible.

Any help to this newbie would be greatly appreciated. :)

To answer your question (other people may chime in if they have better ideas),
I have not really run into a "C Minor" tuning for the guitar, so, for sake of
argument, I will assume that "C Minor" tuning is tuned as follows (from top
string to bottom string:

C G C G C D#

If you put the capo on the 4th fret, these notes get transposed to the
following:

E B E B E G

The notes for the chords you have asked for (in case you're not sure, you said
you were a newbie, so I'm not trying to intentionally insult you here):
Am = A C E
Bm = B D F#
Gmaj = G B D

best fingering I could come up with for these chords are (again, from top
string to bottom string):

Am = 0 1 0 1 0 2 or 0 x 0 1 0 2
Bm = x 0 2 3 2 4
Gmaj = x 0 3 3 3 0

The Bm looks like it would be kind of awkward to play in this tuning.

Let me say at this point that the focus of this group is not different
guitar "tunings" as guitar players think of them. I am a guitar player, so I
know where you are coming from. For guitar players, I like to explain the
focus of this group as "alternate pitch scales" -- imagine a guitar with MORE /
LESS than 12 frets per octave or the frets unevenly spaced.

Happy playing! :-)

Jay

Thanks Jay for your instruction. And for clarifying the group focus.
I do wish I could fing an " alternate guitar tunings" board or group.

I learned of this tuning from some Dougie Maclean songs.

Thanks again, I'll give your ideas a try and let you know how it
goes if you'd like.
