I know you are trying hard, but you just come off like a FOB [Fresh Off
the Boat] newbie...
another book recommendation: _Internet for Dummies_ ... esp'ly the
chapter/section on email ... also anything about email lists (also some tips on
email list conduct is on FAQs which are on the web which *ahem!* I plan to
refresh myself on and hope others on this fractitious-as-hyenas list might do
same...).

Dear czhang:

I don't have as much time to read this list as I would like. So I
have to read selectively. Usually your signatures are so long that I
just skip over your emails. Before you left the list because you
were not paid attention, may be this is why? May be you have
interesting things to say or ask or music to share, but we don't have
the time to sort through your long messages.

I like the rule of "three be's" from my English teacher, be brief, be
brilliant, and be gone. If you want to refer to all the stuff in your
email signatures, much better would be to just include a website
address. Get a good free website or blogpage and put all of your
refers there.

i second what Gabor says. in fact, i was going to ask
you the same thing about a week ago. i like reading your
posts but find that the very long signatures are enough
of a distraction that i've begun skipping some of them.

I agree for the most. It is just *too much* dense material to get through
in those signature.

However, I also want to say that there are some gems in there.

Therefore what I suggest is to simply *shorten* them, and include only a
single gem in a given email, so that you can help us all create a reasonable
balance in what we receive.
