I have been busy finishing some microtonal guitar necks and have gotten a
few days behind on the list. I have to respond to this even before reading
others' responses:

What Studies?

Someone should slap you for this! I would hope that the point of this list
is to ENCOURAGE each other to experiment, theorize, and dream about tuning
and microtonal instruments. Your comment has the opposite effect on me.

Also, glass organs were made illegal in Germany because a quack doctor had
been using one quite successfully to seduce young girls. They produce
pretty close to a sine wave and they are neither unumsical nor annoying.

On another note, you mentioned my otonal/utonal chords. Here are the
primary ones I was using:

Otonal:

9/5, 9/7, 9/8, 3/2
16/9, 8/5, 4/3, 8/7
7/4, 14/9, 7/5, 7/6
12/7, 3/2, 1/1, 6/5
5/3, 10/7, 5/4, 10/9

Utonal:

9/5, 8/5, 7/5, 6/5
16/9, 14/9, 4/3, 10/9
7/4, 3/2, 5/4, 9/8
12/7, 10/7, 9/7, 8/7
5/3, 2/1, 4/3, 7/6

I wish I could send sound samples, but I traded my glass organ for a camera.
(Yes, it's true!). I have started raiding flea markets for brandy snifters
again, and expect to have another organ within a year.
