-This is not not the actual
article I was referring to, the one I DID refer to contained a MUCH more
detailed description of SARA, (it was int New Scientist I believe).
Also, it describes how David Cope was attacked by a German music lover for
his troubles.

I have heard algrotihmic music (genetic, stochastic, random, Brownian,
Mandelbrot set generated), however all of these sound good, and interesting
allright-but kind of phony.

I have E-Mailed David Cope at: howell@cats.ucsc.edu

and he says that you can take quite small amounts of music and get the
computer to generate music.

Yes Bill, you are correct, I will have to get my hands on a lot of material
to make microtonal SARAS.

I could always make up my own gear/compositions.

Mabey I will send out a quest for all the alternative tuning list composers
and fanatics to write me say 10-100 bars, or 1-5 compositions in a special
notation that I can understand, rather than the "staff and blob notation".

Then, in a way, we can have the WHOLE LOT of the alternative tuning list
pitching in and having their styles represented.

Mabey we could just "distort", or "mutate/alter" existing 12 Equal
temperament works, splice notes in, pitch change, delete notes, or do this
for 12ET SARA compositions ect.....

What do you think?

Would converting 12ET to 10ET, not be as simple as:

--spliceing the 10 Equal Temperament to the nearest 12 Equal Temperament, in
effect multiplying each 12ET cents value (except for the octaves) by, and
taking out (quasi-randomly/randomly) say, 16.666666666% of the notes.

As I say, it may not be quite that simple, but this is how we learn:BY OUR
MISTAKES AND EXPERIMENTATION!

Come on alternative tuners and Xenharmonasists!!!!

Get of your non-12ET bums/butts and GET COMPOSING!!!!!!!!!!
