Electronic keyboard with individually tunable keys

Hello All,

Is anyone aware of an electronic keyboard where keys can be tuned individually to user-selected pitches? The tuning thus created will represent the "anchor" sounds of an ethnic scale.

A joystick is also needed for bending the pitches - up or down - from the anchor sounds to accomodate non-deterministic scales.

Thanks.

Hi,

all VIRUS Synth
www.kemper-digital.com
supports the following two MIDI tuning messages:
1. MIDI Scale Octave Tuning Real Time
2. MIDI Single Note Tuning Change Real Time

The first message is an octave-identic tuning
with a range of -64 to +63 Cents for every note.
The second one is a "free" tuning for every key to
every frequency with a fineness of 16,129 steps
for one halftone. The VIRUS supports this fineness.

Both MIDI messages are real time, this means:
The tuning will be changed too at ringing notes.

The keyboard of the VIRUS is the VIRUS KC.

The informations in the MIDI tuning datas you can find at
www.midi.org

If you don't find these informations or if you don't understand
them, please write me directly so that I can send you the
detailed informations.

You should be able to obtain what you want if you purchase a used
Ensoniq VFX or VFX-SD keyboard, which should run you no more than
$300 US these days. The pitch resolution of this machine is not the
best but should be adequate for your purposes.
