With the obvious exceptions of your personal opinion and experience,
this would seem to me to qualify as a musicless half-truth at best...
I mean it's easy enough to see that 13e has little chance of ever
masquerading as any sort of 4:5:6, 5-limit JI paradigm, but I for one
have used quite a few 7-out-of-13 scales (and 13e in general), and had
little to fend off in the way of a "thoroughly nasty" (or
Halloweenish) sound.

I'd thought of adding to my note, "Why don't you try it and see how it sounds?" That is more important than an offhand theoretical judgement. As you've tried it and like it, that's what counts. Obviously, I hadn't tried it.
