Drew-
I use fretless markers. I find them indispensible for learning a
new tuning system on the bass, especially ET tunings.

I think the markers for fretless instruments work best if they are put on
the neck with grease pencil as i mentioned to Drew in a note.. allowing
flexibility with different partch-cult color shading-indespensible for
limit(capping) learning. Also if you have say several---say five or six
schlesinger, partch --ancient Greek healing mixolydian, sruti --whatever
--all combined on the neck you get anywhere from 31 to 66 notes per octave.

Is it that you have read or experience the greek mixolydians as healing.
Honestly Patrick I'm not putting you on the spot but find this
information useful and informative. I guess I should have quoted you in
full as it was a lovely stream you had going there!

Yes Kraig
the ancient Greeks used Mixolydian to heal. My teacher (Denny Genovese)
explained in detail when I was studying with him the properties of a pure
mixolydian mode--that's one of the benefits of learning from a true music
guru all those secret PYTHAg tecniques/.And on experimentation it does have
a soothing quality--maybe not healing to us now with our Complex emotions
created by years of tetism but definitely an significant effect.
