New MIDI files on my music page

Since MP3.com is no longer in operation, I've uploaded the MIDI files of my
15-ET version of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata to my web page.

http://www.io.com/~hmiller/midi/mlgt3-15.mid

Additionally, I've added a MIDI version of the Mizarian Porcupine Overture,
formerly available as an MP3 from the Tuning Punks site. The MIDI version
has a few tuning problems, due to having too many voices in different
tracks playing, but on the whole Scala seems to have done an excellent job
inserting the pitch bends. The General MIDI sounds aren't a very good match
for the original soundfont, but they're good enough to get a general idea
of what it's supposed to sound like.

http://www.io.com/~hmiller/midi/porcupine.mid

I also used Scala to retune my 20-ET etude, which was briefly available in
an incomplete version while it was in progress years ago, but I don't think
I ever got around to putting it up.

http://www.io.com/~hmiller/midi/20tet.mid

Finally, I added a page on augmented temperament, which doesn't have much
information yet, but the examples of an excerpt from Galticeran in the
different augmented ET's might be of interest. I originally was in the
process of writing this page at the same time I did the porcupine and
diminished temperament pages, but I got sidetracked and never got around to
finishing it.

Hi Herman

Are you aware of the Classical Music Archives? I'm sure there's
something there for everybody here and I am sure that contributions
are always welcome.

Herman, I'm really glad to see this again. This was always one of my
favorite of your pieces, and I still have the real audio file in my
archive.

Now where's Yeequitch & Keesha ?

as a big fan of your retuning work, i'm very interested
in hearing the "Moonlight". but neither the link you
gave in your post nor the one on your website worked
for me. my Windows Media Player opened it up and showed
that it had a "0:00" timing.

The links on the web page worked for me, all three movements.

Thanks Herman !

I enjoyed this version of the Porcupine Overture very much, thank
you... I really remember now why your music were the whole inspiration
for me starting to compose with microtonality three years ago! Yes i
haven't released anything more of it a long while, but the fact is i
have started on a lot that i never completed, and now that i have
real, working GM playback i'm probably gonna try and finish some of
them. /Ö

Hmm, I don't know if I ever finished that one. But the Cakewalk file is
probably still around somewhere, and if I find it I'll retune it and put it
up (along with any other works-in-progress I find that are any good).

There seems to be a bug that I can't do anything about, if you're using
Internet Explorer and playing the MIDI file in an external application. It
works fine with Mozilla. I thought it might have something to do with the
MIME type but I can't seem to be able to even create an .htaccess file on
my site any more. It doesn't even show up.

I added them to my FTP site. Try this; if it works, I'll have to take all
my MIDI files off the web site and move them onto the FTP site in order for
them to work in IE, since I'm so close to using up my disk quota.

I've updated my page with the incomplete MIDI versions of Marsupial Jazz
Ensemble (19-ET), Yeequitch and Keesha (15-ET), and It Can Be Done!
(11-ET), in a new "Works in progress" section at the end. I also found a
bunch of older 12-ET music, including the MIDI orchestral version of
Galatsia which used to be on my MP3.com page. I found the Cakewalk file for
The Bent Vortex (tempered Bohlen-Pierce), but I don't know the exact
keyboard mapping I used for that, so I'll have to play around with it until
it sounds right.

Hey, what happened to Krocnardsklestj in 22-tET, which I
have here? And interestingly, the 12-tET version is 10K
while the 22- and 5-limit versions are both 9K...

It's still there: http://www.io.com/~hmiller/midi/krocnard-22.mid

I must have accidentally deleted the link to it from the index page. I'll
fix it the next time I update the page.
