Why not go NNTP?

Hey all,

Since everyone's thinking of going to a new list-serve, why not go to a
newsgroup format-it's free.....something like alt.music.tuning or what have
you....

We could still use a hosting of the archives, however. Oh, never mind-I see
the point-but doesn't Google save news archives anyway?

Google does archive newsgroups but theres no file storage and it takes hours
for a post to show up.

I just don't like how newsgroups work.
