FM7 and Scala Query

I've installed Native Instruments FM7 on my PC laptop and am attempting to
tune it up using Scala. I'd be grateful if anyone can give me easy steps to
achieving this. Is it done by importing sysex or midi files and do I save
the scala tuning as one of these file types? Thanks in anticipation.

Sincerely

The way I get it done is by saving the tuning in scala as a midi file
and then importing it as sysex. My sequencer (Cubasis VST) doesn't
save this tuning which is bothersome because when I load an
arrangement I have to import the tuning into all the instances of
FM7. :(

If this doesn't work you probably should download an update from
Native Instruments website which you can do after registering. At
least my copy didn't recognize midi tuning until I updated.

Thanks Kalle. Unfortunately this still isn't working.

My version of Scala has drop down menus for everything so the help files
haven't been much use yet as I haven't got round to entering commands.

First off I can't find the FM7 listed in the synthesiser menu. I've saved
my chosen scale as a midi file and FM7 won't import it as it obviously wants
a .sys file. I can't figure how to save as .sys files. None of the
documentation seems to make much sense either.

Any halp appreciated.

Sincerely
a.m.

Hmm...

FM7 receives standard MIDI tuning bulk dump. That's number 107 in the
edit/options/midi menu. Select save synth tuning from file menu. That
will save the tuning as a .mid file (.sys not needed). Then import it
into FM7 as sysex. Should work. I just created a 17-equal tuning and
it worked perfectly.

Do you have the update from Native Instruments website?

Right, got it at last. Many thanks. I had to change the .mid to .sys in my
case. FM7 doesn't seem to save the tunings. I have the update thanks.
